Working together to respond faster

We work with our EMS partners from through out the region to develop and improve emergency response across the entire spectrum of care. Our work with EMS partners and the community is completely interconnected. Through education, case study presentations and follow-up after each case, we work to respond faster and better every time.

We depend on the skills, experience and dedication of first responders, paramedics, firefighters, law enforcement and EMS professionals who perform lifesaving interventions at the trauma scene and during transport.

We are members of the following regional EMS organizations:

• Lake Superior Regional Trauma Advisory Committee
• State Trauma Advisory Committee
• Northeast Regional Trauma Advisory Committee
• Upper Midwest Trauma Advisory Committee

We are also active in national programs that require us to uphold benchmarks and report data on trauma cases so we can compare ourselves to other health systems and improve our performance. These programs also provide access to national data used to improve patient outcomes throughout the nation and develop innovative treatments and therapies.

We are active in national programs and organizations including:

• Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP)
• American College of Surgeons (ACS)
• Trauma Registry (Trauma registry data reported to the state and National Trauma Database to further development of trauma care)
