Additional Cardiology Services

Everything we do circulates around the heart

Our care doesn’t end with rehab. St. Luke’s cardiology services range from anticoagulation clinics to women’s heart health. It’s all designed to keep your heart and vascular system running at its best.

Anticoagulation Clinic

St. Luke's Anticoagulation Clinic provides education, laboratory monitoring and dosage adjustment for patients taking anticoagulants, or blood thinners, such as warfarin (Coumadin) in order to prevent clot formation and minimize the risk of excessive bleeding.

Clinic staff monitors each patient to make sure the dosage is great enough to prevent clot formation, without increasing the risk of excessive bleeding. For patients on anticoagulants, several factors can affect the time it takes for blood to clot, including activity level, medications, diet and current health status (such as colds, flu, infection, etc.).
