Grief and Loss
The weight of grief can be overwhelming, whether you are anticipating a
loss or have experienced a loss. Many factors impact each person’s
grief and how one moves through it. St. Luke’s Hospice Duluth®
can support you on this journey. We encourage taking time to rest, breathing
through difficult days and remembering shared experiences.
Bereavement Support
As part of our Hospice Bereavement program we follow up with the primary
bereaved person for 13 months after the death of a loved one. We are honored
to be a part of your grief journey. All of our grief support services
are offered as part of St. Luke’s Hospice Duluth, at no additional
charge. These services include the following:
- Phone calls from our bereavement coordinator or a bereavement volunteer
- Grief counseling available by phone or in person
- Written material, by request, to help process what you are feeling
- Bereavement mailings sent out 1, 3, 6, 9 and 12 months after a death and
also during the holidays
- A Hospice Memorial Service held twice a year, in April and October. You
and your family will be invited to one of these within the year following
the loss of your loved one
For additional support or information contact Lori Williams, LISW, St.
