A big delivery offering new technology to the region will be arriving in
the Northland on Tuesday, December 13.
That morning the two hyperbaric chambers weighing around two thousand pounds
each will be delivered to St. Luke’s and brought through its skywalk
system to the new St. Luke’s Advanced Wound Care & Hyperbaric
Center in the Northland Medical Center. The chambers will be the first
and only hyperbaric chambers in the region.
St. Luke’s is partnering with Healogics, the nation’s largest
provider of advanced wound care services, to open St. Luke’s Advanced
Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center. It’s a move that will take wound
care services to the next level. One of the key highlights of the new
Center is the availability of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) which is
delivered through the hyperbaric chamber. This therapy is for patients
with chronic, non-healing wounds who have tried all other forms of wound
care treatment and may be at risk of losing a limb. The new Center will
open in January of 2017.
