St. Luke's Q Care Expanding to Mount Royal Medical Clinic

St. Luke’s is expanding its popular retail health care clinic to one of the most popular areas of Duluth. Q Care, St. Luke’s Express Clinic, has been seeing patients inside Cub Foods for nearly ten years. This fall, Q Care will be expanding to a second location inside Mount Royal Medical Clinic, a St. Luke’s primary care clinic located on Woodland Avenue.

“Q Care has been an extremely popular service inside Cub Foods,” said St. Luke’s Vice President of Clinics Sandy Barkley. “People love that they can swing by if they or their children have a minor illness like a sore throat or ear ache that they want checked out. This clinic model allows people to be seen very quickly and get on with their lives, which is what they want in this day and age.”

Both Q Care locations will share the same hours, 7 days a week, 8 am to 6 pm. They will also be staffed in the same way, by nurse practitioners and physician assistants. “Being inside Mount Royal Medical Clinic allows us to expand to this site quickly,” said Barkley. Both sites give patients access to the vast resources offered by St. Luke’s health care system.

Next door to Tavern on the Hill, across from the UMD campus, and across the parking lot from the Bluestone Lofts and Flats, this is a fast-growing area of Duluth. “This is a great opportunity to offer this quick, convenient health care model in a second location to better serve area residents and visitors to our community.”

Q Care is covered by most insurance companies. In addition to sore throats and ear aches, other common reasons people may choose Q Care is for bladder infections, colds, flu symptoms, mononucleosis, pink eye and/or minor rashes.

St. Luke’s also offers Urgent Care in several Duluth locations, which provide care for more in-depth urgent health care needs, and are open 10 am to 8 pm, 7 days a week. St. Luke’s Emergency Department is open 24/7/365 inside St. Luke’s Hospital.
