Gateway Family Health Clinic, Ltd with clinics in Hinckley, Moose Lake
and Sandstone welcome St. Luke’s specialists to the community. The
four specialists are:
- Dr. James MacNutt, St. Luke’s neurosurgeon
- Dr. Veronica Mesquida, St. Luke’s rheumatologist
- Dr. Scott Mikesell, St. Luke’s interventional cardiologist
- Dr. James Mohn, St. Luke’s interventional cardiologist
All specialists will offer initial and follow-up consultations as well
as a variety of medical services to patients. This will be the first time
that Gateway Family Health Clinic in Hinckley is offering specialized
cardiology and rheumatology services to patients. “We have a need
for cardiology and rheumatology services in our community and among our
patient population,” said Eric Nielsen, administrator of Gateway
Family Health Clinic. “We are pleased to collaborate with St. Luke’s
and expand our specialty care for patients.”
There are many patient benefits of having specialists travelling to a local
clinic. “There is less travel time for patients, the ability for
patients to stay in their own community to receive care, and often times
being able to see a specialist sooner,” explained Sandra Barkley,
St. Luke’s vice president of clinics. “The collaboration between
St. Luke’s and Gateway Family Health Clinic will enhance patient
care.”
Interventional cardiologists Dr. Scott Mikesell and Dr. James Mohn will
see patients the second Friday of each month in Hinckley. Rheumatologist
Dr. Veronica Mesquida will see patients the first Tuesday of each month
in Hinckley. Neurosurgeon Dr. James MacNutt will see patients once a month
at Gateway Family Health Clinic in Moose Lake and Sandstone.
Patients should talk with their primary care physician about a referral.
