    Bio

    Dr. Anne Silva-Benedict joined St. Luke's Regional Cancer Center in April 2013. Dr. Silva-Benedict completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland. She obtained her medical doctorate from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond, Virginia, and did her internal medicine residency training at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.

    She completed her hematology and oncology fellowship at the world-renowned Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington, serving as an instructor during her fellowship.

    Dr. Silva-Benedict has been heavily involved in cancer research throughout her career and has proven instrumental in helping to bring vital clinical trials to St. Luke's through our partnership with the Whiteside Institute for Clinical Research to offer patients the highest standard of care. Dr. Silva-Benedict is board certified in medical oncology.

    She was featured in the August/September issue of The Woman Today magazine, "Helping Patients from Diagnosis Through Survivorship," which can be accessed by clicking the link above.

    Speeches

    Dr. Silva-Benedict has given numerous breast cancer talks in the community. She gave the first lecture, "Chemotherapy's Impact: How It Affects Your Body and Mind" in St. Luke's Understanding Cancer Survivorship: Lecture Series.
