Dr. Ryden joined Laurentian Medical Clinic as a family practitioner in
March 2015.
With over 20 years of experience as a family practitioner, Dr. Ryden is
looking forward to joining Laurentian Medical Clinic and treating the
residents of the Mountain Iron area. Dr. Ryden was drawn to family medicine
because of the continuity of care and the relationships he develops with
patients. He enjoys treating the entire age spectrum from children to
elderly patients.
One piece of medical advice Dr. Ryden would give his patients is to practice
good nutrition and remain physically active. He reminds his patients these
two components are keys in living a healthy and balanced life. He encourages
his patients to seek out physical activities they enjoy and that will
help in keeping them motivated to continue.
Dr. Ryden is excited to become involved in the Mountain Iron community.
He and his wife Kirsten appreciate the outdoor lifestyle northern Minnesota
offers. In the summertime, he enjoys canoeing, hiking and spending time
on Lake Vermilion with his family. Something you may not know about Dr.
Ryden is he is a talented musician. He enjoys making music with his sons
(both of whom play guitar, piano and violin) and attending concerts with
Kirsten. He enjoys learning foreign languages, and occasionally finds
the opportunity to use his knowledge of Spanish or Norwegian in clinic!
His bucket list includes visiting the Grand Canyon and he will be crossing
that off on a family expedition to Havasu Falls later this year.
Prior to joining Laurentian Medical Clinic, Dr. Ryden practiced at Essentia
Health-Lakeside Clinic. He previously was named Physician of the Year
by the Lake Superior Medical Society in 2007.
