    Bio

Dr. Rust was born in Sandpoint, Idaho. Growing up, he was always active; he participated in many sports, including football, basketball, and baseball. Dr. Rust, who now serves as the Spirit Mountain Ski Patrol Medical Director, would hit the slopes in his spare time. Now, it comes as no surprise that he practices sports medicine.

Dr. Rust, fellowship trained in sports medicine, chose this field because helping people get back to enjoying their lives is one of his biggest passions in life. He has been published in the American Journal of Sports Medicine twice, and received numerous awards for his work. Patients of Dr. Rust say he is very focused on ensuring that they are able to be active and enjoy the things that they love.

Dr. Rust practices medicine in Duluth because of the great outdoor recreation — a reflection of his passion for an active lifestyle. In fact, his bucket list includes learning to sail and sailing across Lake Superior. He also chose Duluth because it gives him the opportunity to be closer to extended family.
