Dr. Disha Mookherjee is a Staff Cardiologist at St. Luke’s Cardiology
Associates and is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular
disease, adult echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology. She is a member
of the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association Circle
of Red and the American Society of Echocardiography.
Dr. Mookherjee is the Director of the Women’s Heart Clinic and Cardiac
Rehabilitation. She sees patients in both the hospital and clinical settings.
She chose cardiology because it is a field of medicine where a lot can
be done to help a patient prevent and/or treat the heart disease process.
Dr. Mookherjee’s father, also a cardiologist, exposed her to medicine
at a young age. Her two siblings are also physicians; one being a cardiologist as well.
Dr. Mookherjee feels that as a heart doctor, she deals with all matters
of the heart. To fully know and understand her patients on a personal
level is very important to her. She aims to help them live as long as
possible with the highest quality of life. She believes in open communication
with her patients, makes sure to listen to all of their concerns, and
clarifies any lingering questions they may have to create the best individual
treatment plan.
Dr. Mookherjee chose Duluth because she immediately felt welcomed at St.
Luke’s, and found the calming beauty of Lake Superior irresistible.
In her free time, Dr. Mookherjee enjoys fitness in many forms including
running, yoga, and pilates. She also enjoys travelling, theater, music
and dance. She is also a trained Indian classical dancer.
