Dr. Douglas Kaplan joined St. Luke's Neurology Associates in January 2015.
With over 20 years of experience as a neurologist in Oklahoma City, Dr.
Kaplan is excited to join the brand new St. Luke's Neurology Associates.
He is looking forward to joining the St. Luke's family and growing
his practice as well as the neurology clinic. He has been in private practice
for a number of years and he is looking forward to connecting with patients,
colleagues and fellow practitioners.
The field of neurology is constantly evolving and this is what Dr. Kaplan
loves about being a neurologist. He enjoys learning the latest developments
in neurology and is a devoted student to his field of study. He provides
personalized care plans for patients based on their specific needs and goals.
One piece of medical advice Dr. Kaplan would give his patients is simple:
live a healthy lifestyle. He reminds his patients that a healthy lifestyle
includes important components such as diet, fitness, emotional well-being
and stress management. If you can manage these lifestyle components, patient
outcomes are typically better.
While Dr. Kaplan, his wife and three children are new to Duluth, they are
enjoying everything the city has to offer. He says Duluth is a beautiful
area and reminds him of his childhood in Chicago on Lake Michigan. He
affectionately calls himself a "Great Lakes Boy" and is looking
forward to being near Lake Superior. In his free time, he and his family
like hiking with their dogs and participating in a variety of lake activities
such as canoeing. His Duluth bucket list includes ice fishing.
