Dr. Mark Eginton and his wife have been lifelong residents of Minnesota.
During general surgery training Dr. Eginton spent six months as a visiting
specialist registrar in general surgery at the Royal Devon and Exeter
Hospital in England. This was a highly sought-after and rewarding experience
during general surgery training.
He had diverse experience during his vascular surgery fellowship, including
clinical trials, basic science research, open surgery and endovascular
intervention. Four research publications have Dr. Eginton listed as author,
two as the main author. He has also co-authored a vascular surgery textbook chapter.
As an alumnus, he has also worked with the medical school as a clinical
instructor. Dr. Eginton also works with the Whiteside Institute, a partnership
between the University of Minnesota Medical School-Duluth and St. Luke's,
to participate in clinical trials pertaining to vascular disease.
He has made it the focus of the Vascular Surgery Department to develop
the best possible treatment for patients, including lifestyle changes,
medical treatment, endovascular interventions or open surgical techniques.
