Bio

Dr. Jesse Coenen grew up in rural central Wisconsin, raising chickens and riding his bike to swim at the nearby lake. During the winters, he learned to ski jump and cross country ski. That active lifestyle is the basis of his medical philosophy today.

Since finishing school, Dr. Coenen has lived in several different states and foreign countries. He has a great respect for the diversity of human beings and cultures. He understands that day-to-day lifestyle choices, such as which foods we eat and how we exercise, are the most important factors that affect health. It's his goal to use positivity and motivation to encourage patients to make the best decisions for their health.

Dr. Coenen enjoys the Duluth community because of the wonderful outdoor lifestyle afforded by this area. He loves to mountain bike and cross country ski. He has competed in the Birkie every year since he was old enough to sign up.
