3D Mammography
St. Luke’s Breast Center now offers the latest in mammogram technology.
Tomosynthesis, also called 3D mammography, takes 15 pictures that reconfigure
to give a three dimensional image of the breast, whereas standard 2D mammograms
take two pictures of each breast.
3D mammography is proven to reduce the number of callbacks for additional
pictures and also is proven to detect more invasive breast cancers than
standard 2D mammograms.
